In this course you find all of the vocabulary you should know in order to function at an A1-A2 level. The course is designed for German speakers; as all of the translations are into German. Furthermore, it is designed for younger learners of English, i.e. those in grades 7-10 who may be preparing for the ESA or MSA.
The course is divided into one “Lesson” and several “Topics.” In the Lesson, you find the word list as a .pdf file without any translations. This is for you to print and write on for those students who learn best by writing.
In the “Topic” sections you find important vocabulary translated into German. Here I use PONS Schülerwörterbuch Englisch 5-10 Klasse as the basis. I do not use every possible translation for the words, but only the ones that are more common. In addition, I also include a short sentence to help you put the word into context.
For my auditory learners, I also include an audio file so that you can hear the word. Please keep in mind that my pronunciation tends to be more American than British, but that never killed anyone.
At the end of the Topic, you will find a quiz to test your new knowledge. You can take the quiz as often as you like to help you learn.
Good luck and good learning!
